The Viking Hat is finished!

My son wanted to try it on before giving it to his Grampa.

Yes, he's my little boy, but 'don't he look sweet' with those braids?

And...

Here's the finished product! Happy Birthday Dad!

The Viking Fairy Hat!

My current project started when my husband saw this picture online:

Unfortunately I can't remember where he saw it to reference my source, but it occurred to me that my dad, a huge Minnesota Vikings fan, did not yet have a hat like this in his team colors. It was a problem I needed to fix!

So I looked up their logo online...

And after a lot of pondering, some helpful advice, and some furious stitching, This is what I have so far:

Not sure what you think when you see this, but my mind says, "Oh, what a lovely little Fairy hat! A few little 'loop-di-doos' here and there and it would look so cute on a little girl in pig-tails!"

So the task at hand for me right now is to turn this pretty little fairy hat into a fearsome and formidable Viking helmet! Stay tuned to see what we come up with...or go find something more interesting to do with your time. That shouldn't be hard.

Ava and Gwen

These were among my first attempts at sweaters without a pattern. This sweater was an infant girl's size 12-18 months.

The color on these pictures didn't come out right, but the yarn used here was a very soft Ecru colored Bamboo and Silk blend.

This was my first time using Aunt Lydia's 100% Bamboo thread and I was very pleased with how soft it was.
